Mission, Vision, Values

Dear visitors to our website,

The Israel Institute for Occupational  Safety and Hygiene (IIOSH) is a public non-profit organization, established in accordance with the
"Labour Inspection (Organization) Law - 1954". The IIOSH main role is promoting occupational safety and health and raising the population's awareness of this issue. Our ultimate goal is reducing the number of injuries caused by workplace accidents and occupational diseases.

My vision is that IIOSH will become the Israeli national center for promoting safety and health, with a decisive impact in all matters related with safety and health at work and in the community across the whole life circle. It will generate cultural and economic change in the field of occupational safety and health and in all aspects of the community life.

As the General Director of Israel Institute for Occupational Safety and Hygiene, I am committed to lead this organization towards a better performance in achieving its goals while addressing the requirements of the national economy. I've set several objectives and goals for our Institute, including:

v  Human resources development – advancing and improving the professional knowledge of our service and information providers in their respective fields, including training provision in modern and emerging workplace environments.

v  Developing an advanced and efficient knowledge management system aimed at providing better services and serving as a modern platform for decision making and resource allocation.

v  Applied research – conducting studies in various fields of safety and health, both locally and in collaboration with leading research bodies in Israel and overseas.

v  Providing an extensive and up-to-date range of services and comprehensive solutions containing various training and information products.

v  Branding and positioning of IIOSH as a leading national professional body in the area of safety and health at work and in the community.

v  Recognition of the IIOSH flagship training products by Israeli leading universities and colleges for the purpose of academic credits.

v  Adapting the institute’s services to the needs of the changing labor environment, emerging risks and globalization trends.

All these objectives should be accomplished by adhering to our basic values: professional and personal integrity, reliability, initiative, openmindness and constant strive for professional excellence. Israel Institute for Occupational Safety and Hygiene is facing many challenges. Together we will succeed in meeting them, advancing safety and health at work and in the community in general, and reducing the number of injuries caused by workplace accidents and occupational diseases..
